Hi,

Now i'm building Hamptone preamp but i'm waiting components.When i wait,i started NYD One Bottle preamp.I have some question about it.

I found this.

http://www.twin-x.com/groupdiy/displayimage.php?album=60&pos=8

Point to point is good for me.But i'm re-drawing it for better reading.

It's my layout.

Questions;

1.Will i send "heater&lamp" to tube socket's 4 and 5 pins,right?
2.Where i will send "B-"?
3.What i will do with "Star" and "Triangle"? (There are two stars and two triangles.I connected them together)
4.Is PSU okay?
5.What is input&output transformer ratio?
6.Can you check layout?

Thanks!

this schema have a mistake with 6.3 v heater, pins 4 and 5 of the tube must be wired together and heater supply (6.3V as hammond 370ax specification written) tied to pin 9 and pin 5-4

Thanks for correction.

I wired 4-5 pins together.I wired heater with 4-5 and i wired the other  heater with 9.Can you check my layout again?You can see correction.

BTW do i have to use Hammond 370ax?

12av7 needs 450mA at 6,3 v parrallel wiring, 6,3 : 700 mA seems good, for B+ its around 10 mA, personnaly i use twice the drawn current, 20mA
correction seems ok

I have an transformer for tube amps.

Primary=220V
Seconder=2x190V
Heather=6.3V
Power=60W

It's not same with Hammond.I think i have to get new transformer.

This week i will get lugs and board.I'm in doubt about resistors wattage.I'm planning to use all resistors 1W metal film to get lowest noise.I think i can reduce thermal noise.

I started. :D I know it's like shit but prototype.

I think it is kind of nice...    :D
I like the steampunk way.

(Makes me want to get out a nail gun and a piece of perfboard!)

I know it's really wierd board.  ::) It's my first preamp and prototype for now.I want to buy good turret board but i can get it about two months.ıf i build it successfully,i will build with better turret board.

By the way i started to build Poorman's Pultec with perfboard.It's amateur spirit. :D

Good luck and stay safe - that board arrangement is ..  imho, a little hazardous.

You can do some real damage with hv shorts and worse if you aren't careful.

Cheers

Thanks.

I'm really careful cause it's my first high voltage project.I checked all points and there are no shorts.I'm already obsessed,i can't be careless. ;D

I'm not idiot.:D

Actually i shocked with 320V at high school.It's was scary...But i was good and i went to home on foot. ;D

keep one hand in your back pocket when poking around high voltage and don't lean on anything, you'll be okay. I got hit by 500V on my first guitar amp build a couple times... nothing to write home about. But as soon as that current finds a path through your heart, say goodnight.

Yes,you're right! It will be my first rule of working.
