Not sure how relevant this is to diy, but Sennheiser just sold off their consumer division to a hearing aid company.

according to their annual report it's around half the company

Any thoughts on this? Will this affect pro audio gear? Senn makes stuff for everyone: studio, broadcast, location... They also own Neumann so that might be in the air too. I know they have said in the past that their margins were slim on consumer headphones, but this is a bit of a shock to me.

As a historical aside I find this news quite amusing. In the early 70s Neve was purchased by a hearing aid company. Later they sold it to Siemens and now a chunk of Siemens gets sold to a hearing aid company. Ironic or what?

My head has something like 'paper-in-oils'. So I don't think I need a re-cap, more like a slow ramp up to normal operating levels so that stuff can hopefully re-form.

YMMV. :D
