i have this mic, but its capsule is loose, they are hold by a foam that disintegrates with time and i have to put some new foam to hold the capsule. But i dont know how to open it. Anyone know how to do that?

Thanks.

Exactly the same problem over here,
my rebranded 403 is about 50 years old and not a scratch,
so i would love some tips about opening up!!

I've read about people doing it successfully, but never saw an explanation/guidelines.
Help would be greatly appreciated!

Included a shot of mine:

Can't a moderator help to change to title of this topic to Sennheiser MD-403?
Some decent spelling might help to get some answers :)

Edit: I'm also willing to make a photo illustrated tutorial on this topic,
the foam rarely survives to our modern days, so I guess lots of people could benefit from some clear guidance.

First remove the two screws on the sides and carefully bend and slide the frame/stand part off, be shure to press the cable back a couple of centimeters.
Now you should have the grill/inner structure freed and removing the two smaller screws on the bottom completes the disassembly. Keep notes on the order of the parts for the reassembly.

Good luck!

I didnt notice i mispelled Sennheiser, please feel free to correct the topics title.

Thanks  Sredna and berre.

That photo tutorial would be really useful, this is a common problem with lots of Sennheiser mics.
