I just came across this. Has anyone used one? Is it any good? What is inside it?

Its probably a variation on below , looks like something thats easily put together with a few two gang pots ,resistors and xlr sockets .

It does say not suitable for high impedences sources .
In this case its arranged as Left/Right , but the same circuit would combine balanced inputs give a mono balanced output .

Is there a creative way to use a four gang pot per input to create a bridged t type attenuation network or is that not what we need in this case ?

Alps blue come in a four gang variety that costs around 30 each .
a standard two gang stereo unit is around 20 ,

If different pot values were required for each element it seems very possible to dismantle and reassemble the Alps blue wafers into a custom configuration .

Depending on the application (what you're feeding with the output) , you're gonna need make up gain on the output. Lots of insertion loss in resistive mixers.
