Hey guys,
I'm a kit builder with good solder skills, but cant really troubleshoot that well :-\

My Shure FP42 works fine in mono mode but in stereo mode the right channel is very, very quiet.. almost silent.

Does this sound like anything obvious?

If you pan hard right in mono mode, does it still work as expected?

The answer to that will isolate the point-of-failure considerably.

Hey, thanks for the reply :D

I'm not near the unit now.. but I seem to remember that panning in mono mode has no effect/ works as expected.

Ok I just checked, when I pan hard right in mono mode I get nothing. No output.

Then it's the mono / stereo switch. Look closely for a broken wire or bad solder joint. If it looks ok, squirt some Deoxit in there and move the switch back and fourth a lot. If that doesn't work and you don't want to try to source a new switch and you don't use the mic / line on that back, that's a two-pole switch.
