I've been looking at a 6/7 channel Sitral desk for a friend & have been having a few issues, that may be cleared up by someone who knows these desks.
The console powers up & the channel strips pass a signal but we are getting no output from either the direct or main outs.
I suspect that the direct out problem is that the owner has a V282b module & I think that it needs v282a. There is definitely a difference on the pin outs, but swapping a couple round so theoretically they should be in the right place didn't work. On closer inspection the circuits are rather different, in that one only has an i/p transfoemr & on the other it only has an o/p transformer.
The second problem was not being able to get any signal out of the main left & right outputs. I traced the signal through to the 2 relays that are sort of underneath the meter(ish). But I don’t seem to be able to get the relays to change state. I can’t work out which switches are supposed to change the relay status. It looks like it maybe something to do with the module that is at the far right of the faders, which seems to have the talk back switch on it. But there are only momentary switches on this module & none of them operate the relays that should feed the left & right o/p modules. Could you tell me if I’m looking in the right place for this switch.
The console also has some obvious signs of modifications. We are just going from the overall console flow diagram, as we have no other documents apart from ones describing the console & modules in German. Not understanding German makes this all a bit more confusing that it should be.
Any of you German guys familiar with these consoles ??
Thanks Rob
