small (maybe well known) tip for getting multilead components in pcb

have you ever had trouble getting the leads of a 4 lead diode bridge rectifier or a 6 lead component to line up and slip into their respective holes on a PCB?
i have till it hit me!  cut the leads all different lengths and place in one at a time!
maybe something you all do but i just thought of this while having a hard time installing the lm394 in my mnats990 DOA

Hehe, good stuff.  That's a good idea indeed.  I do this with W04's too.  =]

Or you just slant the component (f.e. TO-99 "metal can" opamps) to get the same effect..
