i'm new to electronics and i was just curious if you could convert a solid state guitar amplifier to a valve state. if anyone's got info or even done it...yeah...

...any help is much appreciated.

Lots of design implementations use tube pre-amp stages in front of a solid state power amp section. Modding something can be a lot of trouble. Anything is possible, I suppose. What amp? What sound are you trying to achieve? Why tube?

I'd say, just build a new one from the ground up, or buy a tube amp.

Valve state? Thats a solid state amp with the speaker as a part of the feedback network.

Hi, It would be a difficult and almost purposeless endeavour to 'convert' a solid state amp to valve. You would be WAY better off building a small tube amp from scratch, learning as you go. There are kits available to do this and TONS of schematics all over the web. Here's a link here for schems...

And for a kit you would hard pressed to beat the AX84 project...

Good luck!
