we used to make them at the factory in fort lauderdale, but I never used one. I think I have a manual at home, I'd have to look. what connector exactly?

Every module has a multi pin socket that comes out on the back.

And the metrebridge has 3 connectors.

Perhaps for time code and ... ?

"Honda" connectors.

We have one here. VCA grouping... not much else. Mono and stereo modules, very little routing flexibility, straight-to-stereo stuff, used in broadcast.

The extra connector may be for channel control voltages, I don't remember very clearly: We used ours in a CMX video online suite, and it never really got much love.

Ive worked on one. they are pretty cool in general but there were lots of options for that board, so all consoles were not created equal.

you could get it with either a transformerless micamp or one that had a jensen transformer and the sony hybrid. both are clean, decent preamps.

there were 3 different EQs IIRC. I used the fully parametric version. it is ok, nothing special IMO. I always wondered about the optional EQs though. one of them I believe used inductors in the mids/low bands. mechanical push-switches to select frequency.

there is a VCA on each large fader path. if you flip and mix with the (rotary) small fader it sounds a little better to me. not convienent though. but for returns, and stuff you really want to shine, like lead vocals or whatever, try it. to complicate matters, there were 3 (IIRC) different VCAs that could be in there. dbx stack-o-sips jobbie, valley-people module or something else.

you are well served to patch in an outboard monitor controller or mod it in this regard. Fred Forssell was making replacement modules for these baords, not sure if he still is. If anything, id replace/mod the master/cntrl room monitor module.

I think your mistaken this for a mxp3000.....

ward: I've the pin outs for you. Pm me you email address.....

Like Keith said: It's a broadcast console, so you've some bells and whistles on there that you're probabely not going to use ( if you're not into broadcasting that is... ). Eq is very simple but sounds ok to me.
Build quality is quite good and there's room for modifications.
Only thing that sucks is that all summing amps are hybrid opamps made by sony. If these break down you're basicly ******. Also, there's not much room to replace these hybrids by anything else.
For the rest it's a nice console, fully transformer balanced (the input amps do come in an electronic balanced version but these are very rare) and easy to maintain.
