Hey all, is there an "off the shelf-ish" power supply replacement for a 200B Soundcraft. Im not interested in rebuilding the original again.
Then the easiest way is to use very similar IC but with a higher curent output, something like this one: http://www.linear.com/product/LT1083Chrome Heart said:Thanks for the info. Ive already rebuilt it once, and since Im using it in a 24 ch frame I thought Id like a supply with a bit more amperage.
I recently rebuilt the Paragon Flickinger console and did a similar scenario. I used 10 supplies in a rack to make 5 +/- pairs supplying power for lights, EQ's, pre's, meters etc.pucho812 said:if you buy an adjustable PSU with a single out put and adjust it for 17VDC, then get a second exact same psu and adjust it for 17VDC. Then take the first PSU wire the output V+ to the multi pin cable going to your console and ground the V- on that first PSU. That will give you your +17. On the Second PSU take the V+ and wire it to ground and wire in the v- out to the multi pin cable going to your console this will give you -17Vdc. There you have now made a bi-polar PSU for 2 single ended units.
On my mini
trident(16 Channel series 65) I did just that. I got 2 18V PSU and wired them in to get my +/-18VDC needed and added a 48VDC supply for phantom. Even put them into a medium size circuit breaker box as I was trying to make it as inexpensively as possible. Works flawlessly and sounds awesome.
