Hi all.

In my little studio I'm operating a Soundtracs Topaz 32/8 console.
I really dig the sound and that it's pretty compact, but I bought it from a heavy smoking mix engineer and it's got several problems.
Some of the knobs and faders are scratchy and some faders are not moving easily.

So I decided to open her up (even though Tim Jones from Studiosystems adviced against it ;) I couldn't help myself) to see how bad the situation really is.
Thought I'd share my findings.

Lots of IPA and Deoxit are going in there. I'm using Deoxit for the pots and IPA to rinse everything clean.

Bad photo of the bottom mounted PSU.

Note to myself: Don't start smoking, and if you should smoke do it outside the studio  ::)

That's all for now, but more is to come.

Cheers,

Moshe
