Hi Tardishead....It would be an interesting project but there are some nice software ones out there for not too much money....I had looked at building one for setting the rough eq in a room when I do sound gigs but the software ones just work so much nicer....I just put it on a laptop and away I go. I use SpectraRTA found at www.soundtechnology.com.
I also have in my rack an RTA made by DOD and it works "OK" (I got it real cheap) but I use it mostly to keep the drunks mesmerized and away from the board...they dig the blinking and dancing lights :shock: :green: The resolution is horrible, but it's OK for a quick and dirty check, plus, like I said it keeps the riffraff away from the console.
