Hi all,
Regarding SSLTechs +/- 18 +48v schemo...
I built one of these p2p back in 05 or 06 and it worked great. Suddenly i have a need for another one so i put it together on veroboard and the +/-18v is perfect. However, the phantom side is being a pita. With my DMM, across the common rail of the 18v side to the +48v output i've read no more than 19v, and it's not constant, it falls to zero almost instantly.
The trafo is center tapped, all of the components are rated as stated. I disassembled the phantom side yesterday and rebuilt it with a different 317 and diode. Same results.
Also; The schemo shows the - output of the +48 rectifier tied to the center tap of the trafo and the common rain of the 18v circuit. With this connection made i read only open circuit around the 48v output. Is this indicitive of a bad cap?
