Coming from the guitar amp DIY crowd, I put a standby switch in all of my tube amps.

Is there any reason that it is unnecessary for the LA2A?

I know that the LA2A is basically a preamp (in other words it doesn't have a pre and power amp section) so does this change the need for a standby switch?

Just leave it on all the time.
Thats what I do.
I like all the lights and meters glowing!
It reminds me of tracking, something I have not done in a long time.

:?

Standby switches are there (as I understand it) to prevent cathode stripping of power tubes. Since there's no real stressed power tubes in an LA2a, there's no risk of cathode stripping from trying to drag tons of juice out of a cold tube... so a standby switch would pretty much be a waste of a switch.
