Since I got such great responses before, I figured I'd ask about this one. I have a kit for a stereo preamp, and supposedly (according to a friend of mine who built one) it sounds pretty good. My problem is that the ins and outs are rca, which wouldn't be all that useful. Can one of you explain how I could modify the layout to make the ins and outs balanced XLR? I know I have to figure out the returns and ground lines somehow, but I'm not exactly sure how. Also, please try to keep it as simple as possible since I'm still getting my feet wet with electronics.
