Glaxo Smith Kline reported 100% success at wiping out rectal cancer in an 18 patient trial. This is very good news IMO.

I look forward to them addressing other cancers using checkpoint inhibitors.

Sounds awesome! Hopefully, corporate greed won't prevent these sort of treatments to take place in the future. Big Pharma is in the business of selling drugs, not curing people...

Apparently it's a fairly specific rectal cancer variant that this works against--less than 10% of all yearly cases. Nonetheless, it's amazing news, especially for the thousands of patients who could potentially benefit from this treatment.
