Basically, I already know how to do this BUT it's usually advised to use 475 ohm resistors and I only have 470 ohm. Will this make an audible difference?

no,

while the implication is that 475 is a 1% value and 470 could be 5% or 10%, so to maintain differential balance you might want to select values to be similar.

It all seems to work fine but my speakers switcher (12-pole Lorlin break before make) pops when I select the mono output.. the other 2 positions are silent.  Any ideas why this might be?  Is it something to do with the resistors being in the signal path?
Also, the mono output is about 6db quieter than I would like... is this the 470's or the 20k across pin 2 and 3 which is causing the drop in volume?
