I saw the "When Vinyl Ruled" exhibit at the 2001 AES in New York, and it rocked. The sound of those 3-track masters played back through McIntosh amps and Altec VOTs could bring a tear to your eye.

I was at that exhibit as well, and I felt it was the highlight of AES(at least for me, anyway). Eddie Kramer did a little thing on one of the days, and he played some cool old Hendrix outtake stuff. My friend David Baker was the one who organized all of the 'When Vinyl Ruled' stuff, and he always seemed to be able to make those things enjoyable as opposed to just a display of dusty old museum pieces.
