I have this wonderful, single-ended tube head that I built that is essentially a Tweed Princeton circuit. What I'd like to do is to be able to tap off the speaker jack and get a signal small enough so I can go into the input on my Twin Reverb. From what I've read about the Guyatone amps, they did something like this.

I'd love to be able to get the power tube distortion sound of the Princeton and then control the overall volume with the Twin.

Crazy? Not worth doing?

Cheers,

Use an isolation audio transformer.

That way you don't get into trouble connecting two chassis (at possibly different potentials) together.

That's what I used to do years ago... basically it's an inbuilt speaker-level DI. I used a resistive pad into a DI.

Look at most DIs on the market, they have "speaker" level inputs, that's for precisely this task, and the DI is there to isolate the chassis from the next stage in the chain.
