I'm just starting to dabble in the 500 format, and before making an investment of a few hundred bucks + I just want to build a PSU that I can use to mess with two or three modules. The problem is that I'm not finding any voltage/current specifications on these things. Would a JLM Audio PSU suffice?

Average consumption for a module is 120mA. JLM's psu provides up to 1A on + - rails and will be fine.

The rails are 16V and 24V. However, to your luck there is one on sale in the Black Market.

Are you talking about 500 or 51X?

API is +/-16VDC and 48V for phantom.
51X is +/-16, +/-24 and +48V for phantom

See attached API pinout.
