I opened a Behringer Cybermix and found alot of THAT 2159 vca's (32 pcs) but i can't find the datasheet on THAT's site. Does anyone know if i can use them for something?

HT

I did a few Google searches and turned up some information for the DBX 2159 being the same as a THAT 2159. Supposedly they are interchangeable with THAT 2150's. That being said there was also an article on a DBX 266 dual gate compressor which utilized these chips. As far as a data sheet I have found nothing so far. "If" they replace the 2150's the SSL's a plenty for you. 32 pieces translates into ten SSL's worth of DIY. Factor in what the unit is worth verses tearing it apart selling a couple of VCA's and recycling the box. You may have created a reason to buy more Blinger equipment! I'll keep my eye open for a Data sheet. You could also e-mail THAT Corp. Give it a try!

Well.. I got the unit for free and i got no use of it. I'll try stuff them in my ssl and see whats happen.
I've mailed THAT Corp and waiting for a reply.

earlier Cybermix units had 2150's inside. I am pretty sure that Binger didn't change their pcb's of circuits to put higher level stuff in... :green:

I got a reply from THAT Corp.

Claes,
The THAT2159 is essentially a THAT2155, but with even lower guaranteed
spec's.
Enjoy,
Frank Thomas

And what i've undersand i can use these in the ssl-clone..??
