While mowing my lawn this weekend, cautiously giving my rain ditches a wide berth so I don't get stuck in the soft ground again. I already got stuck once earlier this year and had to winch myself out. The heavy zero-turn mowers use fat rear tires to not tear up the lawn, but these fat tires do not dig in with soft muddy turf and just spin.

My idea is a hinged tread on the fat rear tires, that lays flat when rolling forward to not hurt the grass, but in reverse the hinged tread opens up and digs in. So instead of getting stuck you could just back out of soft dodgy areas.

That sounds a little too easy. 🤔
