But why oh why does the idiot seller not list the title and author???

because that a**hole buys books for cheap and then turns 'round and sells them at a huge profit on ebay. he withholds the title of the book because he doesn't want you to go find it elsewhere for cheaper. this is his m.o. he's been doing it for a while. he usually hypes up the description to make the book more appealing to vintage gear suckers.
