Hi.
I just wanna make sure about this before wiring up 32 of these.

I found this online, and wanna know if its correct. I think the center one on solder side going to tip would be more logical, so I just want to make sure.

You're wiring 32 of them? So you have them in your hands? Why not just ohm them ot with your VOM?

Actually, S stands for SLEEVE .

Peace,
Al.

Use your conituity tester, like you would for diodes it would show you which part is connected to where, I had to do this for some patch cables.

Generally the convention is as such:

T (Tip) - Hot
R (Ring) - Cold
S (Sleeve) - Shield

Hope that helps.

Matt

Her er en vejledning for både balancerede/ubalancerede XLR/TRS osv.

Short pdf-file on how to solder inserts, balanced/ unbalanced jack/XLR

Most of you answered something different than my question, so maybe I should take some more english lessons and learn to ask my question properly

I know what the pinout is for soldering the TRS, but I finally decided to ride my bike down to work to pick up a meter, and that drawing is indeed wrong. The center on solderside corresponds to the tip, not the top one like the it seems the drawing is saying, so I was right in questioning it.

I have found that with the N*E*U*T*R*I*K*S and S*W*I*T*C*H*C*R*A*F*T*s, That the center pin is usually the Hot(+) and that the top connection is usually the ring(-) and the Sleve/Screen/Shield connection is usuallt in the back somewhere and sometimes is a crimp.

I can confirm pucho812's statement. Seems to be a quasi standard even for the unknown brands (have some dozens of different manufacturers laying around all following this scheme, i measured it).
TIP - Centre Contact
RING - Outer Contact
SHIELD - Back Contact, obviously
