US Steel tubes - Pin 1 to chassis, ground or cathode?

Hi guys, a basic question. Where would you connect pin 1 of US steel tubes like 6j5 or 6j7? The web is not clear, the GE datasheet for the 6j7 seems to specify the cathode as the reference potential.

That's just for that measurement condition, if it's fixed bias, sure. Pin 1 to ground, always, connects the tube case as shield.

Thank you for confirmation. That made me a little uneasy when I read it.
I don't want to change my PCB design again.
