Hello,
in many repairs and DIY builds we find the need to know an Equivalent transistor to replace a failed one or for a new build.
Back in the day people had books with charts for transistor equivalents.
I found many sites and sources that you can easilly do that nowadays and are pretty usefull,
use them all the time.

Alltransistors.com are a good quick reference - once you enter the transistor number and choose the variant if there are any, at the bottom of the page is the link for equivalents which you click on - this gives you the choice to change specs for your substitution including packaging. Below that link are listed datasheets.

I really dislike that site and I don't recommend it at all.
It already gave me wrong information in the past and constantly keepd give you results for transistors that you will never find around.
It's not that good

Personally I think the links I provided in the first post are much better, and those are the ones I recommend.
