Hi, one of my V76 preamps gives a Pfwiieeeeeeeet sound for about a second, 30 sec after startup :green:
after that the preamp performs just as excellent as my other one ( so comparison is easy ) for the rest of the day.
what component could causes that ??

i would suspect a dodgy capacitor or bad solderjoint, most likely caps.

Your V76 will never get over this, send it to me, you've got my address

does it changes when you manually touch the components? uim, i mean low voltages here!
good luck hunting the problem,

Tony

does kinda sound like a dodgy cap charging up if its a constant time the the noise occurs. doesn't v76 have built in psu? check the big caps in the psu.

I replaced all the caps recently with high spec. ones.
Maybe I overlooked something, will look at it again.

Tony, thanks for the kind words,
If I ever cosider to let them go .........

does it do it with or without a mic attached? some of my pres do this with certain mics hooked up as the phantom charges.

This rings a bell - even with the specific channels muted I hear that sound when turning phantom off. The channels I'm talking about are not exactly V76-like, but anyway, yes, so, perhaps - something phantom related are your side ?

It does with or without a microphone connected.
It sounds like an old Star Wars shooter. from 1khz down to around 80hz for about 4 secs.
Good to start the day with cleaned ears , I must say
:green:
