I found one of these on the very cheap at a ham fest and as expected It has problems. It is very different from the VP 400 that I have. the whole thing is based on Analog devices SSM series ICs. The mic pre and EQ work fine but, the gain cell is based on an ssm2018 vca followed by an ssm 2142 balance line driver. The problem seems to be in the VCA but, It sure would be nice to have a look at the schematic. If any one has one or any other service docs you certainly would have my eternal gratitude if you would be kind enough to share.
