hello,

I'm just rebuilding my valley dynamite. to my needs

that's the plan so far..

- will build everything in a new enclosure
- 1 control set for both channels
- 1 rotary switch to access the limitig and expanding modes
- true bypass switch
- switch for changing the detector to feedback mode
- switch to change between automatic and manual gain control
- replacing opamps in the audio path
- changing some caps

but there's one thing I'm still not sure about...

a lot of switching between the different limiting modes is done with 4053 cmos switches that are all in the sidechain path.

would you suggest to replace them with real mechanical switches...
or is that "clean" enough ?

you can find the manual with schematic here (~10mb)

will post pictures and schematics of the mods when I'm done.

The Cmos 4053 is by far clean enough for sidechain functions - even for audio, if used right.

A really important upgrade to the dyna-mite would be to replace those ugly too-small knobs..

Sadly, the directory http://classes.berklee.edu/mpe/pdf_files/manuals_pdf/ - which was a great manuals resource - seems to have been closed to the public - though direct-linking to individual files is still available.

Anyone with access care to make a links list? Please?
