Very Old Tube Box

This is interesting. Does anybody know what it is?

I am assuming it's a very old line amp/mic preamp recording installation thing. A client brought it in the other day and asked whether I could do something with it, and I backed off and decided that someone like Mad_Ax (Duuuuuude Where are youuuu?) or some other serious tube specialist would be right for possibly getting it back up and running.

Btw the thing on the front left corner is a relay, big one like on the old Zuse Z3 computer.

Nice!  I was going to guess Ham radio with the "trans"[mit] control and "key" inputs.  Plus Loctal tubes???

Yeah it's really neat just to look at as a museum piece. Does anybody know about usability or resale value of parts, or whether it would be a cool device to use for color as a pre or line amp?

This looks like it might be an AM modulator for a mobile transmitter rig.  The loctals were designed for and mostly used in mobile applications.
