I think I have a similar genuine Philips mic (with genuine plastic DIN plugs!). Anybody interested? I may sell it for only $100 :green:

Best regards,
Why is everything that dude has for sale "vintage"?
Because it sounds better than 'crap'. :green: My wife is addicted to 'antiques' and she's finally learning the difference between good old stuff and crap.

He's even selling a vintage vibrator. What a perv!

Oh my God, in the '70s, my little Panasonic cassette deck came with a mic just like that. (Mine had a mesh grille, but was otherwise the same).

I actually have a pair of new-in-box mics of the "came with the cassette deck" variety laying around somewhere in my junk pile. If I put them up for sale, will a TapeOp reader buy them? :green:

The kind that plug into 120 line voltage? Don't knock 'em til you try 'em man, those'll make you want to upgrade to a 200 amp service panel.

yup, thats the one we are talking about.

that particular model seems to come up everytime someone brings up a story of an ******* selling a piece of junk...

I actually have one of those that says telefunken on it (really). Cant imagine what that must be worth. Maybe I can sell it to a rube and buy a u47.

I know this guy. When I first became interested in electronics about 6 or 7 years ago, I asked him if he could recommend a few good books. His exact reply was,

"YOU'RE NOT GETTING ANY HELP FROM ME... AND NO, I WON'T LET YOU WEAR MY DIRTY UNDERWEAR EITHER."

So much for a hopeful mentor, eh?

You, Sir, are correct.

If you have shitloads of money, you could buy one of his beautiful wooden horn tube amps, or a custom guitar, or a fender champ in a beautiful wooden box. But if you need a repair or something, let the long line of pissed off ex-customers speak for the quality of his repair work.

The real problem with him, at least the last time I dealt with him, is that he has arrogant ******** working for him who think they know everything. (Admittedly, that was years ago -- could be different now.) I don't know how many repairs he actually does himself.

My curiosity is piqued. I'm starting to wonder if this is someone I might have heard of back in my days in the guitar amp biz, but the initials don't ring a bell. Someone PM me...
