Hello folks, wanted to share a neat little IoT device/software combo I found when sourcing a lobby radio player for a client.
Volumio is a free linux distro, and runs on most versions of raspberry pi's. Typically used headless, you remote in via browser or SSH, but you can add a touchscreen too if you wish:
I bring it up just because it was so easy to set up and lets you stream ad-free or ad-limited music all day from pandora or your choice of web radio all day-- a real fire-and-forget piece of kit to pump music into a location. Integrates with other smart home devices so you can trigger music queues depending on who is in the room, etc, and also have multiple devices on one network for music in different rooms, controlled from one web interface. Barebones kit would be the pi, case with a Wifi connection..about 60 usd. Connect a set of powered speakers and you're gtg.
