Hi Guys,
I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I didn't find anything that answered my question.
I would love to always put transformers and IEC inlets on my gear, but I'm not allowed to do that here in Germany because as a self-taught electronics enthusiast, I'm not allowed to play with mains. For my own gear, I'm doing that at my on risk, but If I lend gear or build it for someone else, everything has to be legal and safe. This problem leads me to the following questions:
- Can you tell me where (In Europe) to get wall warts with symmetrical +/- 18V output, which also have an earth pin?
I only find ungrounded wallwarts (or external power adaptors) with 3 pin outlets, where the 0V is just a center tap, floating.
- What's the difference in performance between, for example a GSSL compressor, that gets a floating center-tap and an earth-grounded one?
Best,
-Adrian
