Congrats I guess...although this reminds me of what John Bahcall, the heavy-hitter astrophysicist said, about when someone makes a big blunder in their published research.

He said if it were an assistant professor, he/she would be denied tenure. But if it were someone already with tenure, they would make him/her the Chairman of the department.

My friend Roger is now Chair of the music department at UCLA. He seems to be thriving and enjoying the gig, but it is still very early.
