Hi!

I'm making another Reamp, this time with Cinemag CMLI-15-15B transformers, and i'm not sure where to connect it's shields. There are two between the windings and one outer (transformer case?).
On Cinemag datasheet it looks like they all should go to ground:
http://cinemag.biz/line_input/CMLI-15-15B.pdf (i have pcb version)
On Jensen's schematic for reamp outer goes to ground, the other goes to minus pole of the secondary:
http://www.jensen-transformers.com/as/as092.pdf

Can someone please explain me this a bit? Should they all go to ground?
I have another question; it's good to have jack connector insulated from chasis, but i couldn't find one localy. Is it a problem if i use non insulated and simply make ground point there instead on the input

shields.

usaually gounded.
which ground?
good question.

usually soldered directlly to chassis, old school, best way, nowdays, you never know, try both chassis gnd and no connection, see what works best as far as noise.

also, shields can improve high end by eliminating C.

so listen to the high end with a sig gen, shields on and off ground.

install a sw iuf you are a real control freak.

if should be a four letter word.
