Why are most DIY kits mostly mono than stereo?

Why do most developers DIY kits usually mono? Is it due to demand or it is cheaper, or is it much more difficult to implement for either developer or user?

Considering both rack mounts and 500 series.

Also because most sources are mono? And maybe arguably to minimize crosstalk between channels or whatever...

..because stereo audio processing in analogue is very, very hard to do - getting tracking potentiometers is a big problem. This why most of the stereo projects are like the GSSL: stereo-by-VCA
