Not my call, and we are working on a strategy that could nip these spammers in the bud... but requires some special coding.scott2000 said:Of course . Deputize some of us....
That just spams the moderators when we are already dealing with an active attack.EmRR said:I try to report all I can, lately they have been coming faster than the system will let me report.

There´s not the slightest reason to question the way you´re doing your job (thanks btw.) and I don´t think that´s what the op was about-
The question for me is what is that BS about, I mean they are not even trying to sell something? What do they want? Making the world (even more) a stupid place?
thanks for the suggestion but we can vet them easier than that, just review every new members first post. If it is spam they are gone, if not they live.ruffrecords said:I will repeat the suggestion I made last time we had lots of spam. Moderate new members until it is clear they are genuine. I do this on all the boards I moderate. I also ask all new members as part of the sign up process to say a few words about why they want to join the group and point out that they will be initially moderated so there may be a dyas delay in their first messages getting through. It means a little extra work for a moderator but you can do it any time you choose and it stops spam dead in its tracks.
