For a Pultec MEQ-5 mid dip.

Obviously an Allen-Bradley Type J would be preferred, but my sense is that I'm gonna have to take what I can get.

A Blore-Edwards custom part is an option, but their lead times can be rather long, shipping from the UK to California would be quite expensive for a single potentiometer, and they seem to only be doing plastic shafts at the moment (not that this is a massive deal-breaker).

Does anyone have anything? None of my usual surplus retailers or eBay, etc. seem to have anything

Thanks!

Apparently one can also use a 5k rev log pot with a 5k resistor paralleled... but yes, both solution don't look as good as a 2.5k rev log allen bradley pot :(
Edit : I contacted a supplier to ask for a quotation for mil spec 2.5k rev log. Maybe we can organize a group buy ? I wonder where Analog Vibes / RecPro Audio or such kit suppliers source their parts...

analogvibes hasn't offered a full MEQ-5 kit yet, but I know for their EQP-1A they sourced parts from Blore-Edwards, who is a really great resource for this sort of thing.

I'd be down for a group buy of course, obviously depending on MOQ and cost.

An RV4 series pot from PEC, ETI Systems, or even Honeywell (formerly Clarostat) would be ideal.

Many of these manufacturers have 2k5 values as stock items, it's the reverse-log taper that's the tricky bit.

Did you find a source?

I have a large quantity of 5k Reverse Audio log Allen Bradley Type J pots, which do work in this circuit w a 5k resister paralleled. If anybody is in need of some send me an email at [email protected]
