What does a Motorola MC14001 does that a CD4001 can't do?
On-semi have a MC14001 but only in SMD.

Yes, and as I said - I have one!  I also have the MC14001BCL which is identical but in a ceramic case, not plastic.  My point was, why do you need that vintage part instead of a new one?  It is not an audio component.
