Heyhey...

Scored this old desk for £80 - thinks it's more of a live mixer then a recording one, but i figured for the chassis/parts alone it was a deal...could make a killa midibox/combined line/passive mixer with the frame etc...

Was just wondering if anyone round here had any background info on these chaps tho - couldn't find much info on the web...

Cheers!

Well, I didn' thave enough time to REALLY mod, like I wanted. The freq response dropped off earlier than I wanted and I'm sure that I'll need to change some cap values in order to get that to happen.

It was full of 4558 and 4556. I used LM833 in place of 4558 in the channels, and OP275 IIRC in the summing and outputs. I think I changed the caps in the PS out for Panasonic ("HFQ series" since I had them!)

And I changed the jumpers to have two Pre-fader Auxes, one Post- since this fits my needs better.

I have used mine for the occasional live gig. I wish it had mutes!!

HTH!
Charlie

Cheers fellaz - should know more today when touches down :)

Atm, i'm leaning towards gutting it and turning into a monster daw controller with a possible simple internal line mixer and/or passive summing too...prolly fits my needs better atm :)
