Does anyone know definitively what preamps and mics were used at the original A&R Recording studios at 112 West 48th St.? "Ella and Basie" was recorded here, and the vocal is perhaps the best I've heard. It sounds really flat and has the character of a u67, but this is purely speculative. I know most of you are sick of it by now, but I also love the original "Brown Eyed Girl" recording, which was also made in the original A&R studio. That record has my favorite electric bass sound ever, and some of the best pop drums. Would be nice to have denotative info or at least some solid clues. Thanks in advance :)

Phil Ramone was one of the original A&R engineers. Maybe he mentioned the equipment in an interview?
