No-brainer for its intended purpose, but that's not why you absolutely need one... Pic of bottom attached, and I'll let you guys figure this out yourselves.

To push you in the right direction, this tool = no more nightmares, no more damage, no more nothing... ever.

Sure, but you're describing its intended use... It's great for that, no brainer.

Thinking more specifically mics, what else would something like this be invaluable for?

I'm sure there's plenty of other good uses for it, but... exactly!

Here the tool is resting by its own weight. Capsule damage impossible.
