Was browsing cheap mics to gut and I found this:

http://www.amazon.com/BadAax-T-11A-Vacuum-Condenser-Microphone/dp/B00GFG19G2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1452542795&sr=8-1&keywords=badaax+t11a

The headbasket is different but the body itself looks from the picture to be very close to other things that I know are Alctron. The shockmount, cable, and PSU also look to be the same as Alctron models.

I bought one of these for cheap on ebay, with plans to gut it for a c12.

After getting it, I decided I didn't want to spend the money right away, so I took a nice NOS 12ay7 from my stash (happened to sound great and not be microphonic) and changed the circuit around with quality parts and some of the various easily googled mods online.  I ended up adding the small EQ cap as well, but left the power supply and stock capsule alone.

This thing sounds killer!  I'm going to have a very hard time justifying the money for a c12 PCB, parts and capsule.

BadAax is the house brand of Music Factory Direct in Elkhart, Indiana
http://www.musicfactorydirect.com/

...they rebrand much of the Alctron microphone line, like the HST11A and the GT2B:

...when they have them in stock, they consistently seem to be the lowest cost source for the Alctron  mics...

I bought a couple of the Badaax T50B tube SDC mics

I use without mods - very useful and sound pretty dern good, irrespective of the price : )  Considering I bought the first one as just for the psu, ended up with a pair more.

Great on the hihats, acoustic guitar, percussion pieces  etc

Are those end address small diaphragms? I don't recognize the grill shape and it seems weird for an LDC. What's it "trying" to be?
