I have a J&J SE4200, swedish branded clone of Multivox MXD-5 (I think). Have looked for schematic with no luck.

Have used it a lot with no problem but a few days ago it started to blow the fuse. Did some testing and could see that when powering on it makes a power surge too great for the 100mA fuse. It goes down to 40 mA after about a sec. The power surge was as great as 1A sometimes. Except for this issue the unit still works and sounds great (when testing it with a larger value on the fuse).

Any ideas what could be causing this? I replaced the transformer while ago. Could that be it? (New is a 2x15V/1.66A, only using one of them). But it has worked with this transformer for quite some time. Can a bad power switch make this power surge?
