Also, how are the actuators made? Presumably they have a small magnet attached to a slider. I wonder if they're an off-the-shelf part or made in-house.

I don't have a type number. Just do a search for 'reed contact' and you will find them.
There is a magnet in the moving part of the switch. The adjustment is pretty critical, there is a chance that they are 'always on', or 'always open' if they are not properly adjusted.
Neumann sells the whole 'switch assembly', but at a rather high price...
And be careful: the glass very easy breaks if you try to bend the wires close to the glass body!
