Well, if this works I'd even be willing to start on a 51x rack build to house it in.. pretty excited about the possibility of having 2 or 4 germanium preamps..

have had it under power for a few hours now
no smoke ;D
but the transistors get HOT

all is working fine, except the polarity switch (my fault)
this is why we do prototype PCBs

will do some measuring over the weekend
for today: Sir Kubi did a nice job - as expected ;D

I know the RCA was only used as inspiration, but want to add that the output transistors on an RCA get warm, but not hot.

Received some nice fitting L-Brackets today:

final PCBs should arrive this week,
once the front panels are in we are ready to go

Forgot all about these , are the panels going to be gold like kubi's
so i can use marshall knobs [ i thought that looked good , but
of course sound is more important ]

Greg, the front panels will be gold like kubis's.

marshall knob and some major "hard to get / fit parts" will be included in a "basic kit".
there will be a 2nd "kit" with all other parts.
input and output transformers available as an option.

btw, this is "GroupDIY 51X" only - won't work in any other API rack.
(24V required / 16V not used)

yet undecided.

however, I have some 60 rev02 PCBs (not fitting my front panel + another little bug) & some card edge connectors.
could be a solution for some 1U rack builds.
