i re-read the PR... it's a plastic front panel with some knobs and switches. and that's it. no pcb, no nothing.
I thoguht for a while that it was going to do a midi-controller at minimum...

Why would you wrap your own circuit into a ssl chassis? Just to make it look cool?

More evidence of decline in the console business?

JR

probably in large expensive analog mixing console .......

though many (full " low " cost smd) Duality consoles are sold around the world ...... Aws too (for that i see around...)

ok : before the mp3 music market "devastation" ...
the gains of the artists were much higher ,

also the  lesser known artists, emerging , or who were able to  have "only" a lower or modest success ,
still earn much more money than today ,

obviously the record companies budgets for music productions were a lot more "fat".....

much more money available  for Nice equipment

undoubtedly a much better "environment"..........

...... as icing on the cake .... add also  the arrival of computer based  digital audio workstations ,

and the "drama" is finished .....

despite all the various adverse events,
there are also many successful artists ,
of various musical genres , rock , pop, rnb, hipop , edm , latin , etc.....
who earn millions of dollars a year,
a part of which is spent in equipment....

All that aside :
i.m.h.(ears)o.  the analog summ made with a good quality console or summ unit still "Invincible" !

my 2 "cents"
r

ps:
......about ssl diy kit ....
have like the presentiment that they want to effectively combat the diy phenomenon
today diffused all around the planet.....
(..and not only but also..... around of the "universe"  ;D)
good luck.....

Well.... honestly.... I really think this is a joke.

And if not, then it'll probably has an SSL price tag, because it "features real SSL controls", hahaha.

But speaking of DIY.....

Have you guys noticed the 500 series of the bus compressor has got an added sidechain HP filter ?
Also funny that it's a series G- SSL buscompressor. ;)
