Huh. Last time I checked Trump holds no government position and has no authority to make or break any deals in Congress or the Executive branch. TDS is truly debilitating. It's paywalled and I'm certainly not giving my hard-earned money to WaPo.

But the almost-done-deal was an awful compromise and many republicans in Congress were made aware of just how angry their constituents are about it when the massive support for Gov. Abbott and TX were seen. Trump still understands this issue better than most in Congress.

If Romney & Co can't construct a viable deal that can survive criticism from outside government it must be the critic's fault, amiright? Give me a break. These "representatives" are making bad deals that their constituents don't like, otherwise Trump's comments would carry no real weight. Too bad, Mitt. So sad.

I find it amusing that the left is blaming exPresident Trump for border chaos.

Republicans passed HR2 a border/immigration bill reinstating policies that President Biden cancelled with executive orders, almost a year ago, that has been sitting at Sen Schumer's desk. This is no doubt as partisan the other way as the new democrat bill. If these pukes are serious they need to meet in the middle of those two bills. Ukraine just got some $60B funding from the EU so that is no longer an emergency funding pressure point. The political players bundled Ukraine, Israel, and other foreign spending, along with the border requests into this kitchen sink spending bill.

Sadly this close to voting, neither side is serious and they are just trying to smear each other with election based talking points/sound bites.

Buckle up, its going to be a bumpy ride. ;)

The choices may not be ideal, but they are clear if you bother paying attention. The confused people are the ones who are hoodwinked by fake news like "Biden just stutters" and saving "our democracy" with open borders and billions to Ukraine.

Not sure why you quoted me for this. I wasn't blaming Trump for the increase in border crossings, just noting how absurd it is to deny his involvement in the recent scuttling of an immigration bill when everyone involved including Trump himself says he is to blame. Unless that's what you meant by "border chaos"?

Though funnily enough a convoy of vigilantes just made their way to the border only to find... well...
