Hey guys, I bought a Beyer M500 ribbon brand new in 1980 and have just loved it to death in the most abusive of ways. It sadly has hit the deck several times in the last 2&1/2 decades and now breaks up badly when you really get on it. I know about Steve Sank. Is there anybody else out there who can rebuild the capsule? This was my favorite vocal mic for me although it's output is kinda low.

thanks

Try Beyer then try Enak. Personally, I'd go to Beyer first before getting a "standard" ribbon fitted.

Hi jensenman, thanks for the reply.... I sent it to them (the US service center) and they sent it back saying "tough luck buddy"; basically; " we're out of parts and we don't care about your silly ass problem". I have sworn to never buy another of their products because of that.

Any other ideas? On this side of the pond, hopefully?

Thanks
gb

and if you're stuck, I'm just down the coast from you, and can put a "standard" ribbon in it =)

I have one that needs a new ribbon , but also an output connector
, which is difficult to get ?

So i could stand to get it fixed as well or trade
