Don't know if it works ?
First put the Decadry lettering on the blank surface.
Then paint in the color of choice , also over the lettering.
When dry, pull off the Deca letters etc.
What 's left over is the painted surface minus the place where the letters were.

Anyone ?

I actually have tried that (I've also tried the reverse, like a stencil)!
The problem with that method is that you have to stay pretty large with the letters, or else the paint will bleed into the fine areas. Also, the tricky part is knowing when to peel it. I found the best time was to do it slightly before it completely dries. If you do it too soon, the paint will bleed. If you do it too late you risk taking off some paint. All in all after I was finished I determined it was too much work for unimpressive results.
I've tried practically everything. The best results I've had with DIY labeling is using rub on lettering and top coat. Here's an example(please excuse the fingerprints on the front panel, I should've wiped it down before the photo ): http://www.groupdiy.com/index.php?topic=152

Looks nice. Where do you get the rub on lettering?

PS: Pint not working again. I think it's 'cause I'm using the old Netscape 4.7.

cheers all,

Wow!
I've seen you many times on tv in various competitions... Are you still in activity?

Gents,
I heard about some places over on RO and at a synth builder site.
I have not tried any of these...

I got positive results on lazertran (well positive erm first try i was quite happy i got this far. There are minor errors on decal) Here my diy quad synth from ucapps.de

It's quite scratch proof but do not expect powder coating results.
anyone tried these inkjet papers, used to print your own t-shirts ?
The stuff that's specifically made for transferring onto dark fabric... Here's how it looks on a stompboxe (Hammond cast aluminum).

I think I still like Kent's PRR 12AU7 compressor front panel the best. :green:

The Lazertran looks like it does pretty good work.

EDIT: I get confused sometimes...
